Following their first two location-aware iPhone app/albums ('The National Mall' and 'Central Park (Listen to the Light)'), Bluebrain was asked by the organizers of SXSW Interactive in Austin, Texas to create one for the grounds of the festival. 'The Violet Crown' is a musical composition, available exclusively as a free iPhone app, that uses the phone's built-in GPS to alter the music as the listener traverses the area - each street and intersection is tagged with various pockets of sound, turning the festival grounds into a musical 'choose-your-own-adventure'.
Starting March 9th, download for 'The Violet Crown' for free from the Apple App Store and explore the streets of downtown Austin in an entirely new way.
